The unity of kowledge
Consilience is a non-profit association that focuses on research and education fields. The members and collaborators are university teachers and researchers from Spain and other European and American countries.
POURPOSES
Consilience was born from the desire to develop, promote, and encourage different projects within the framework of certain objectives that we will share below.
Promote the unity of knowledge across the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts, and Technology.
Advocate for and promote evidence-based research
Foster advanced interdisciplinary studies in all branches of knowledge, art, and technology
Facilitate high-level dialogue among science and society, to advance the understanding of the human being and their place and role in Nature
Boost the well-being of humans and animals, especially in the use of animal therapies
Encourage the education of citizens in scientific and technical aspects, with a focus on understanding Nature and its protection and conservation
Promote the improvement of individuals training and qualification in any academic and professional field

The founding nucleus of Consilience originates from the field of Didactics and School Organization, underscoring the significance of training future teachers across all levels and fields of knowledge.
José Gijón Puerta
Associate Professor
José Gijón Puerta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Didactics and School Organization at the University of Granada.
He has a degree in Biology, a master's degree in Paleoanthropology-Human Evolution and a PhD in Pedagogy.
He currently directs the R+D+i Project National Research Plan Code PID2021-128774OB-I00 «Effects of the application of a dog-assisted activities program (AAP) on academic stress levels in university students»
Emilio Lizarte Simón
Associate Professor
Emilio J. Lizarte Simón is an Associate Professor in the Department of Didactics and School Organization at the University of Granada.
He has a degree in Pedagogy and a doctorate in Educational Science.
He is a researcher specialized in Vocational Education and Training (VET) and dropouts in higher education.
He is also the director of the research group at the University of Granada Laboratory for Cognition, Health, Training, and Interaction among Humans, Animals, and Machines.
He also directs the PPJIA2020-14 research project on early leaving in vocational training in Higher Education (VET).
Meriem Khaled Gijón
Associate Lecturer
Meriem Khaled Gijón is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Didactics and School Organization at the University of Granada.
She has a degree in Law, a master's degree in Forensic Physical Anthropology, and a doctorate in Educational Sciences.
She is a researcher specialized in teaching skills in penitentiary environments and in qualitative analysis.
She is also co-chair of the RDC Enabling Teachers for Entrepreneurship Education, ATEE, Brussels.
